Why Do a Fall Cleanse?

As the vibrant heat of summer fades into the cool, dry winds of autumn, the body and mind are called inward. In Ayurveda, fall is governed by Vata dosha—light, cold, mobile, and dry—and without conscious support, it can lead to imbalance, fatigue, anxiety, bloating, poor sleep, and weakened immunity.

According to Ayurveda, summer is ruled by Pitta dosha, the energy of fire and water. Pitta governs digestion, transformation, and metabolism, and when it’s in balance, you feel clear, focused, and strong. But when Pitta becomes elevated—especially by the end of the hot summer months—you may notice signs of imbalance such as:

  • Burning sensations, heartburn, or loose stools
  • Skin issues like redness, rashes, or itchiness
  • Headaches and/or tension in eyes
  • Waking in the night, especially around 2–3 AM
  • Irritability, anger, or being overly critical (of yourself or others)

 This cleanse helps to cool, calm, and rebalance your system—physically, mentally, and emotionally—so you can return to feeling grounded, light, and vibrant.
