From IBS Struggles to Feeling Lighter and Energized: A Journey of Healing and Weight Loss – Alicia B.
Initially I went on this venture to heal my gut and help me strengthen my digestion. I’ve been so terribly sick with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) for so long, I was at my wits end and felt there was no solution. Eliminating foods and reintroducing them seemed inconclusive, so I had no idea what triggered it.
My initial period off the coffee was hard. I had headaches and fogginess, but after about 4 to 5 days that passed, and I am gladly off the coffee. It’s so liberating! The first 2 weeks of the diet I was hungry and cranky (lol) as I was used to eating quite a lot in the day for snacks, and I filled myself regularly supper time to the brim. I no longer do that, and I feel much lighter.
So, the benefits of this program? I’ve learned new amazing recipes, and how to cook with spices I never used before. I enjoyed some much-appreciated weight loss and began to feel generally lighter and more energetic. I do not feel so sluggish, and I went from feeling sick after about 80% after meals, to only feeling sick three or four times! (for the entire 30-day period)
I feel healthier, and optimistic that I know what I can use to fall back on to get my gut in good health and how to lose some extra pounds if I need to.
The zoom sessions were very informative, as I knew very little of Ayurveda before.
The white film on my tongue (ama, also known as toxins) was quite pronounced when I started this diet, but after the tongue scraping and brushing, it is almost gone!!

I am 100% off coffee now and feeling amazing! I think my taste buds are becoming more activated and therefore the flavours are becoming even more enjoyable. I am feeling more in tune with how my body feels after each meal and am so surprised that since my 1 day fast I have not had a craving for anything. This to me is astounding!
My mental health is improving every day. I was experiencing very stiff joints and tight muscles for quite a while now like my body was compressing in on itself and this is totally gone now. I feel expanded and open in my body and that has not been there for a very long time. No sore back in the morning either. I am eating three meals a day and if I am hungry in the afternoon I have a sliced apple sprinkled with some cinnamon and that seems to hit the spot. I usually have my dinner between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm and don’t eat until the next morning between 7 am and 9 am. That seems to be working and balancing my Kapha.
I am sleeping so much better as well. Wow! As I write this all down, I can see how much progress I am making. I am grateful that I was ready for this experience and feel so much more optimistic about being capable of aging in a strong and healthy way as well as keep modifying my choices to be more aligned with my Kundalini Yoga lifestyle which was the primary reason for taking this program.

Dr. Suhas Kshirsagar , B.A.M.S., M.D. (Ayurveda) is a classically trained Ayurvedic physician.
He worked with His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi for over 10 years.
He is a motivational speaker, presenting Ayurvedic Wisdom and sharing stage with Deepak Chopra, Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, Dr. Oz and many other leaders in the field.

My story on Digestive Health:
Believe it or not, I am in better health now at age 55 than in my teen years, late 20’s and 30’s. Around the age of 40, I started taking care of my well-being more than before and noticed an exponential impact on my life.
What was I doing differently from age 40 onwards? I had started practicing more self-care routines and focusing on maintaining my boundaries, doing more yoga and practicing more meditation. By the age of 50, I thought I had mastered my life – however, it was not until I signed up for my training as an Ayurveda Chef training in Hawaii that I realized that my journey on self-awareness had just begun.
Ayurveda believes that our life is an experience of what we are metabolizing. If our digestive function is not optimum, we struggle through life and find it very hard to feel centered and calm. This is because we are digesting more than food in our life. We digest – what we eat, hear, feel, smell, taste, see and think.
Once I started applying simple digestive principles to my life – my life started becoming clear, centered and calm. This is when I realized that it’s more than only focusing on yoga and meditation and my boundaries – I needed more tools to assist my digestion in this fast-paced lifestyle. Having a strong metabolism is necessary to feel happy, content and healthy in life.
